Your car insurance policy may be cancelled for a variety of reasons, including missed payments, incorrect information, or ineligibility based on your insurance history. Once cancelled, your policy can’t be reinstated, but you’re welcome to get a new quote if eligible.

If your Marshmallow policy has been cancelled, we’ll always let you know via email and text with a clear explanation.

We’ll always let you know first

We never cancel a policy without letting you know. You’ll receive a cancellation notice via both email and text, so you won’t be left in the dark.

Common reasons we may cancel a policy

We may need to cancel your policy for one of the following reasons:

  • Missed payments: If a payment hasn’t been received after several reminders.
  • Incorrect information: If your details don’t match what we were told during signup (for example, about your driving history or address).
  • Policy eligibility: If we discover you're not eligible for a policy with us (for instance, if you’ve had a policy voided or cancelled by another insurer in the past).

We’ll always explain the reason for cancellation clearly in the message we send you.

Can my policy be reinstated after cancellation?

Unfortunately, no. Once a policy has been cancelled, we can’t reinstate it. You’re welcome to get a new quote, but we may not always be able to offer you a new policy.
